Give yourself a healthy start to the morning! Porridge is an slow release food, great if you are on a diet as a bowlful will fill you up till lunchtime.

Add a swirl of Nutella to your porridge and you will get all goodness of hazelnuts as well as enhancing the flavours.

Serve with a few slices of banana to complete your tasty breakfast.


If you want a richer taste and depth to the porridge, use half milk and half single cream.



1 cup whole or semi skimmed milk
1/2 cup porridge oats
1 tsp brown sugar
Pinch of salt
1 tbsp of Nutella


  • In small pan, heat the milk up to simmering point.
  • Tip in the oats and a pinch of salt and mix well.
  • Pour the porridge into a serving bowl and taking a tablespoon of Nutella spread, swirl around.
  • Serve with sliced banana on the side.
